Psychological support you can lean on – for stress, anxiety and depression, and when you want to change your habits.

How can I help you?

What I offer

Clinical psychology and health psychology

  1. Emotions
  2. Impulses
  3. Actions
  4. Goals

We are in balance when our feelings, impulses and actions fit our goals. Ongoing stress, crises or mental illness can tip this balance – and this is exactly where I come in.

I support you in two areas: with mental health conditions through clinical psychological treatment, and with stress, sleep and habits through health psychology counselling.

For mental health conditions

Clinical psychological treatment

Evidence-based treatment for mental health conditions – personal, grounded in science and tailored to your life situation.

Areas of treatment

  • Burnout and exhaustion depression
  • Depression
  • Anxiety disorders and panic
  • Sleep disorders (insomnia)
  • Binge eating disorder
  • Stress and adjustment disorders

Cognitive behavioural therapy, complemented by mindfulness and acceptance strategies.

For your health behaviour

Health psychology counselling

Scientifically proven strategies for less stress, restful sleep and healthier habits – so you can find your balance again.

Areas of counselling

  • Stress management
  • Recovery and breaks
  • Sleep habits
  • Stress and emotional eating
  • Sport and exercise motivation
  • Habit change
  • Smoking
  • Screen time and digital habits
  • Alcohol

In counselling I use scientifically proven methods of stress management, motivation and behaviour change. The aim is change that holds up in everyday life – not quick fixes that fade after a few weeks.

I also consult in English.

Approach and process

Structured, goal-oriented and tailored to you

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) works with what is on your mind today. Together we look at the thoughts, feelings and habits that weigh on you – taking into account your life story, your relationships, and your personal strengths and resources.

Mindfulness and acceptance strategies complement this approach: they help you notice difficult thoughts and feelings without being swept away by them.

  3. (03)

Treatment or counselling then continues in regular one-to-one sessions – structured, goal-oriented and tailored to your individual situation.

Research and teaching

What I research flows into every session

My research focuses on stress and recovery in everyday life – especially how sleep, mood and habits such as eating and exercise are connected.

Balance Lab and “Ruhepuls”

At the Balance Lab at an Austrian university, my team and I study how everyday strain shapes sleep, mood and habits – with smartphone studies, questionnaires and measurements of heart rate and sleep. The multi-year research project “Ruhepuls” (resting pulse) asks how people find calm again after stressful days.

Teaching

As a lecturer I teach health psychology and stress research. What students learn there is the same state of research I work with in practice.
